Bruce Edward Wheeler's Obituary
Mr. Bruce Edward Wheeler, age 69, beloved husband, father and grandfather, went to be with the Lord Sunday, December 26, 2010 at his home. He was born April 26, 1941 in Muskegon to Ferman and Jennie (Erickson) Wheeler and lived in the area his entire life. Bruce retired from Sappi Fine Paper in 2006 after 42 years of hard work and dedication. He graduated from Muskegon High School. Bruce enjoyed Big Lake Fishing with his two buddies, Jerry and Junior. He loved camping, fishing, and hunting. Bruce enjoyed his step-son Leon’s annual pig roast, country music, and going to Thunderbird Raceway. He also had a love of Arabian horses. Bruce was a dedicated family man, and loved family gatherings. On December 31, 1977, he married the former Barb (Stewart) Webb in Muskegon. He was also a member of the Muskegon Eagles. He is survived by his wife, Barb; his daughter, Brenda Wheeler; 3 step-sons, Leon (MaryLou) Webb, Raymond Webb, and Larry Webb; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Marceil Johnson and Beverly Bates; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Jerry and Paul Wheeler, and his buddies, Jerry Johnson and Leo “Junior” Prow. Bruce will be missed dearly by all who knew him. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, December 30, 2010 at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Avenue (231) 726-5210 with Rev. John H. Brown officiating. INTERMENT will take place at Ravenna Cemetery. VISITATION with the family will be 5-8 PM Wednesday and one hour prior the service, 10-11 AM Thursday, at the funeral home.
