Mr. Buttler B. Smith's Obituary
Mr. Buttler B. Smith, age 77, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2022, in Muskegon. He was born November 19, 1944, in Connersville, IN, to Buttler B. and Mary D. (Hamilton) Smith, before moving to the Muskegon area. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran and was a supporter of Wolf Lake United Methodist Church. He worked as a machinist for Kaydon Corporation before retiring. On June 23, 1967, He married Dorothy E. Haight in Muskegon, and she survives him along with one son, Scott (Candy) Smith; 2 grandchildren, Nathan and Amanda; one sister, Judy (Norm) Fisher; one brother, Gale Garvey. He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandmother who raised him, and his infant daughter Carla. A graveside service, with military honors, will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 12, at Egelston Township Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Mr. Smith made be made to UNICEF for the children in Ukraine. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442.
