Candy A. Sandberg's Obituary
On Sunday, May 21, 2023, Candy Ann Sandberg, age 55, passed away in Muskegon, MI, and went to be with Jesus and her family in heaven. Candy was born on November 20, 1967, in Salida, CO, to Jack and Joyce (Mestas) Mazza. On May 3, 1997, she married Steven Sandberg, spending over 26 wonderful years together. When Candy & Steven met in Omaha, NE, it was love at first sight. They spent over 20 years in San Antonio, TX before moving to Michigan in 2020. Candy loved spending time outdoors, whether it was making snow angels and sledding in the winter or walking trails in nature and gardening in her backyard during the warmer seasons. She loved spending time by the water, watching the boats go by and walking along the beach or to the lighthouse. Although her time on earth was not as long as her family would have liked, they take comfort knowing that Candy will always be present with them in their hearts. Candy will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Steven Sandberg; son, Brandon Sandberg; daughter, Nakayla Sandberg-Touch; grandchildren: Karter, Wyatt, and Damon; mother, Joyce Mazza; and her big little brother, Mario Mazza. She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Mazza.

“The greater someone has loved in their lifetime, the more broken the hearts they leave behind. As time went by, many things were changing but my love, respect and appreciation for you only grew stronger. You have always been very special in my life and I love you more than words could ever say. You made a difference in my life, the one I could open my heart to because you understood me. You inspired me and believed in me because that is what you do. As my guardian angel, I know you will continue looking over me until we embrace again.”
-Steven Sandberg
