Carl Michael Forrest's Obituary
Carl Michael Forrest, age 81, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2025 at Trinity Health – Muskegon Hospital. He was born February 29, 1944 in Sault Ste. Marie, MI to Raymond and Lila (LaBranch) Forrest and moved to the area in 1963. Carl was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War. Carl worked for CWC Textron and retired in 2003 as a supervisor after 40 years. He also enjoyed small engine repair for many years on the side. On November 21, 1969, he married Virginia Cole and she preceded him in death on December 18, 1994. On January 26, 1996, he married Cindy Louise Brewer in Muskegon. He was a member of the Masonic Temple #140 in Muskegon and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include his loving wife, Cindy Forrest; 2 children, Michael Forrest, Stuart (Penny) Forrest; 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Patricia (Lannie) May, Phyllis Stafford; and special friend to the family and girlfriend of his late son, Tonya Gregory. Besides his first wife, Virginia, he was also preceded in death by his son, Robert Welch; 1 daughter-in-law, Diane Forrest; his parents; and 1 brother, Stuart Forrest. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, March 6, 2025 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444, with Pastor Aaron Gregory officiating. Military Honors will be offered by the Muskegon County Council of Veterans of Foreign Wars. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Memorial Contributions may be directed to the Disable American Veterans Wood Tazelaar Chapter #11 in Muskegon.
