Mr. Carl F. Lund's Obituary
Mr. Carl F. Lund, age 84, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012 surrounded by his family. He was born in Ludington, MI on November 4, 1927 to Martin and Jennie Lund and had lived in Muskegon since 1963. Mr. Lund was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University. He taught for over 25 years at Orchard View High School and also spent many years working with adult education through Orchard View Community Education. He was a life-long supporter of the Democratic Party and was a 35 year board member for the Muskegon Township Planning Commission. On October 21, 1960, Carl married the former Elizabeth Kurth in Detroit, MI and she survives him along with 2 daughters, Jenni (Randall) Bowen of Muskegon and Kristen Lund of Traverse City; and 2 grandchildren, Andrew Bowen and Anna (Everett) Parks. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Martin Lund. SERVICES will be 10:30 AM Thursday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100 with a light lunch to follow. VISITATION will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday. MEMORIALS to the Muskegon Township Fire Department Equipment Fund, 1117 S. Walker Rd., Muskegon 49442 or Orchard View Community Education – Adult Education Scholarship Fund, 1765 Ada, Muskegon 49442, would be appreciated. The family extends their appreciation to the aides from Professional Nursing Associates and the Muskegon Township Fire Department for the care and compassion they extended to Carl during his final year.
