Carl Okerlund's Obituary
Mr. Carl Okerlund, age 79, went to Heaven on Saturday, April 10, 2010. He was born on May 9, 1930 to Mulder and Rosa (Schurr) Okerlund and on October 7, 1955 married Joan Schulz. Carl was employed by Brenneman Inc. and later retired from Intra City Dispatch. He was a member of Orchard View Congregational Church. He is survived by 2 sons, Steve (Robin), John (Susan); 1 daughter, Carol; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and one on the way; 2 sisters, Neva Westage and Shirley Rahn and 1 sister-in-law, Juanita Okerlund. Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Joan; his parents; 1 son, Jeff; 1 grandson, Michael John; 1 sister; 1 brother and 3 brothers-in-law. SERVICES will be 11:00am Wednesday at Orchard View Congregational Church with Rev. Tom Beetham officiating. VISITATION will be from 5:00pm-8:00pm Tuesday at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210. INTERMENT will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. MEMORIALS to his family would be appreciated.
