Carl D. Quinn's Obituary
Carl David Quinn, age 87, passed away in Norton Shores, MI, on Thursday, July 13, 2023. Carl was born in Scottville, MI, on December 29, 1935, to Merle and Edna (Shaw) Quinn. Carl worked as a carpenter for many years, retiring in 1998. He was an overall handyman and a very talented woodworker, and everyone in his family has something that he had handmade for them. He loved to spend time in the outdoors, especially hunting and golfing. He was a self-taught bass guitarist and played in various bands over the years, most recently in the “Country Gentlemen”. He also loved to bowl and spend time with his family.
Carl will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Linda DeCheney-Quinn; two sons: Jon (Leann) Quinn and Lon (Angel) Quinn; three stepchildren: Bob (Michelle) DeCheney, Marv (Dawn) DeCheney, and Valerie (Phil) Thompson; 11 grandchildren: Zack (Michelle), Kohl (Chris), Chelsea, Breanna, Brandi, Ryan (Shelby), Ashley (Allen), Mia, Bobby III (Karlie) Alexis (Maverick), and Alayna; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Edna Quinn; his first wife, Peggy Quinn; his grandson, Taylor Quinn; and all three of his siblings: Richard “Dick” Quinn, Dorothy Carnes, and Gertrude Townsend.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE for Carl will be taking place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave, Muskegon, MI, 49442, with VISITATION taking place an hour prior. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution to The Harbor Hospice Foundation.
