Carl E. Suchovsky's Obituary
Mr. Carl E. Suchovsky, age 94, passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at a local hospital. He was born on January 10, 1919 to John and Katherine (Michalec) Suchovsky in Coolville, OH. Carl was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and also served in the U.S. Army during WW II. Carl was business minded and did very well in sales. He was owner of Cee-J Wholesale Distributors and earlier started Port City Candy and Tobacco. Carl was part of bringing Meijer Inc. to Muskegon; he built and leased their first building on Norton Avenue where Meijer currently operates. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and working in his garden. On November 1, 1941, he married Luella M. Salter and they have been together for 71 years. She survives him along with 4 children, Carl (Nancy) Suchovsky; James (Barbara) Suchovsky; Cheryl (Kenneth) Abramczyk and Laurie (Michael) Smith; 8 grandchildren, Catherine (Dallas) Stiles, Carl James (Debbie) Suchovsky, Andrea (Jonathan) Knight, Jessica Swift, Heather (Steve) Campbell, Lee Anne (Andrew) Bay, Zachary Swift and Elliot Swift; 11 great-grandchildren and special niece & nephews. Carl was preceded in death by 2 brothers, John and Paul Suchovsky. FUNERAL SERVICE and Military Rites will be 2:00 PM, Monday January 21, 2013 at St. Mark Lutheran Church with Pastor emeritus Mark E. Zimmerman officiating. VISITATION with his family will be one hour prior to the service. MEMORIALS to the St. Mark Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 4475 Henry St., Norton Shores, MI 49441 would be appreciated. Burial will take place at Norton Cemetery.
