Carl Dale Tobey's Obituary
Carl Dale Tobey, age 88, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2024. He was born February 25, 1936 in Ludington, MI to Clarence and Retha (Gutschki) Tobey. He worked 40 years as a machinist for Muskegon Piston Ring prior to his retirement. On October 11, 1969, he married Beatrice Jacobs in Muskegon and she preceded him in death on June 15, 2014. Carl was an avid coin collector and enjoyed hunting. He was a handyman and could fix anything. His favorite TV shows were Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. He will be greatly missed. Survivors include 9 children, Cheryl Kramer, Dennis (Jacqie) Smith, James (Anna Stanton) Smith, Kirk Smith, Julie Thomas, Carla (Clyde “Jr”) Burggren, Mai (Frank) Wynn, Charles Tobey, Steve Tobey; 2 generations of grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Rose and Dolly. He especially shared a special bond with his granddaughter Camryn, (his Bear), and his cat Mickey. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bea Tobey; his parents and 1 sister, Mary. A Celebration of Life Luncheon will be held 12:00-2:00 PM Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at The Lee Family Center of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444.
