Mr. Carl John VanDam, 92, passed away Tuesday evening, June 13, 2017. He was born March 3, 1925 to Edward and Dora (Baar) VanDam in Muskegon, and was a lifelong resident. Carl started Norton Manufacturing in 1957. He is survived by 4 children, Kathlynn (Frank) Martin, Laurel VanDam, Joan (Tom) Cole, Eric (Sherilyn) VanDam; 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; 1 sister-in-law, Dorthy VanDam. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; 2 brothers, Arnold and Forrest VanDam; and 1 sister, Harriet Woudenberg. A private family gathering will take place at a later date.
