Carl A. Schaefer's Obituary
Mr. Carl A. Schaefer passed away Thursday, January 5, 2012. He was born October 28, 1948 to Benjamin and Mae Schaefer in Muskegon, MI. Carl was in the Army and National Guard for 3 years and served in the Vietnam War. On October 3, 1970, he said his vows to Denise Erb, starting their life together. Carl enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being with his grandchildren. Carl is survived by his wife, Denise, 4 daughters: Dawn Mossey, Maria (Ken) Strohm, Rhonda (Joe) Stafford, Jennifer (Jon) Schaefer; 4 sons: Matthew (April) Schaefer, Donald Schaefer, LeRoy Schaefer and Brian Schaefer; 14 grandchildren. Carl is also survived by his mother, Mae Schaefer and 3 brothers; William (Kris) Schaefer, Curtis (Lori) Schaefer and Bruce (Dorie) Schaefer and many nieces and nephews. Carl was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Schaefer and brother, Mark Schaefer. Carl will be sadly missed by all of his loved ones. A GRAVESIDE service will be 11AM Wednesday January 11, 2012 at East Dalton Oakhill Cemetery, with full military rites performed under the auspices of the Muskegon County Council. A time of VISITATION with the family will take place after the graveside service at the Don Rea VFW Post #8846.
