Carlean D. Ericksen's Obituary
Carlean Dawn Ericksen, age 85, passed away in Muskegon on Friday, September 30, 2022. Carlean was born in Muskegon on March 5, 1937, to her parents Russell and Katherine (Thompson) Keniston. She graduated from Muskegon Heights High School in 1955, and then worked for 35 years as a machinist at Howmet before retiring. On October 24, 1988, she married Dennis Ericksen, and they spent almost 34 wonderful years together before her passing. Carlean was a very active person who liked to keep busy. She had many hobbies, including gardening, fishing, cross country skiing, raising honeybees, and photography. She loved camping at Oceana Shores and spending time on the water; she liked to water ski and had even tried windsurfing a few times. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and always appreciated getting together with them. She liked listening to music, particularly to Van Halen and Pink Floyd. More than anything, she loved her family. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Dennis Ericksen; four children: Kathleen Meinders, Frank (Beverly) Meinders, Kurt (Diane) Meinders, and Renee Wright; two stepchildren: Linda (Bruno) Olechnowicz and Greg (Tina) Ericksen; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren; brother, Tim (Melissa) Keniston; and two sisters: Audrey McManus and Brenda Foester. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Danny Meinders. Per her request, no public service is being held, but memorial contributions can be made out to the Harbor Hospice Foundation.
