Carl L. Little's Obituary
Mr. Carl L. Little, age 83, died Wednesday morning, July 4, 2007. He was born January 7, 1924 in Eastport, Florida to Hover B. and Frances C. (Stockstill) Little. He served in the U. S. Army during WWII. In 1949 he graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi and taught school for a couple of years. He married the former Hazel Yawn, December 26, 1950, in Collins, MS. They migrated to Michigan in 1951. After working at several places in Grand Haven, he became employed by the Army Corps of Engineers. He was crewman on the U.S. Dredge Hains and retired from the Corps in 1983. After retirement, Mr. Little was employed by Kaydon Corporation from 1984-1991 as a security guard. He was a member of First Baptist Church and VFW Post 446. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel on November 28, 1987, and his parents. SURVIVORS include his brother-in-law, George (Martha) Yawn of Helena, AL; 1 sister-in-law, Grace Yawn of Collins, MS; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins scattered down south. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday at First Baptist Church with Rev. John H. Brown officiating. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. MEMORIALS to First Baptist Church or the charity of your choice will be appreciated.
