Carmen J. Rillema's Obituary
Carmen Joyce Rillema, age 78, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2019 at home surrounded by family. She was born August 27, 1941 in N. Muskegon to Clifford and Bessie (Mclain) Anderson. On September 23, 1960, she married George Rillema in Muskegon. Carmen and George had a beautiful turquoise 57’ Chevy Bellaire, which they proudly displayed at many Car Club events over the years. They had also been members of the Travel Trailer Club of the Midwest (TTCM). Carmen was on a Tuesday Senior bowling league for many years, enjoyed being a homebody, loved working in her yard and doing crafts. But most importantly, she loved taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. SURVIVORS include her husband, George; 2 children: Tammy (Dave) Magnant of Twin Lake, Timothy (Donna) Rillema of N. Muskegon; 5 grandchildren: Mark (Anna) Hysell, Bradley Hysell, Bree (Dustin) Dykstra, Sarah (Nazar) Kluchkovskiy, and Joseph (Meredith) Rillema; 5 great-grandchildren: Levi, Olivia, Jaxson, Bo, and Brenna; 2 sisters: Shirley Brown of Tampa, FL, Norma Pickard of N. Muskegon; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Toby. Carmen was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Harold Anderson; 3 sisters: Vivian Day, Gertrude Cooper, and Millie Allen. A Celebration of Carmen’s Life will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, November 14, 2019 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231) 798-1100. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. MEMORIALS to the Harbor Hospice Foundation will be appreciated.
