Mrs. Carmen Slocum's Obituary
Mrs. Carmen June Bernice Slocum, age 89, passed away Friday evening, May 2, 2014. She was born December 6, 1924 in Chicago, IL to Arnold and Agnes (Kristiansen) Johnson. Mrs. Slocum worked for Sealed Power for 48 years, where she met many of her friends, and retired in 1993. She married Burl J. Slocum and he preceded her in death on January 21, 1993. Carmen enjoyed going to “old movies” and listening to music, and was always a sharp dresser. Her love of family was very important to her, especially her nieces and nephews. SURVIVORS include 2 brothers, Jack Johnson of Muskegon, Clifford (Susan) Johnson of Spring Lake; many nieces and nephews; 3 special nephews, Fletcher, Sam, Jacob; and close friend, Dorothy Kempf. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother. According to her wishes, there will be no services. MEMORIALS to Harbor Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association will be appreciated.
