Carmen J. Voss' Obituary
Mrs. Carmen Voss, age 87, went to be with her Lord, Friday evening, October 8, 2004, at her home. She was born July 23, 1917 in Muskegon to Charles & Jenny (Fisher) Valentine and resided here until moving to Grand Haven, in 1972. Carmen had been Secretary – Treasurer of Parcel Delivery, which she and her husband Robert owned and operated for 36 years, prior to their retirement in 1983. She was a member of Second Reformed Church of Grand Haven and formerly of First Reformed Church of Muskegon. Carmen was also a member of Widow’s Agape Fellowship of the Muskegon Berean Church. On April 4, 1941 she married Robert A. Voss and he preceded her in death on February 11, 1991. She was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Sue Voss and brother, Jack Valentine. SURVIVORS include 3 sons, Michael Voss of Norton Shores, Donald (Joan) Voss of Birmingham, AL and Greg (Gayle) Voss of Grand Haven; 12 grandchildren, Thressa, Yvonne, Bryan, Becca, Amy, Ginny, Jamie, Andrew, Ashley, Nathan, Kerah and Derrik and by 9 great-grandchildren. SERVICES will be 1:00 PM Wednesday at Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 737 Apple Avenue, Muskegon, MI 49442(231-726-5210) with the Rev. Dwight Reed officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Cemetery. VISITATION with Carmen’s family will be 6-9PM Tuesday. CONTRIBUTIONS to Hospice of North Ottawa County or the Widow’s Agape Fellowship of Berean Church will be appreciated.
