Mrs. Carol J. Cavanaugh's Obituary
Mrs. Carol J. Cavanaugh, 82, passed away Tuesday morning, October 30, 2018 in Muskegon surrounded by her family. She was born May 27, 1936 to Leo and Ardith (Richards) Schnipke in Muskegon, and was a lifelong resident. On July 17, 1954 she married Francis “LaVerne” Cavanaugh, and he preceded her in death on February 6, 2009. Carol was a school bus driver for Oakridge Public Schools for over 30 years. She was a faithful “fan” and spectator at all of her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and was an avid NASCAR and golf fan. She is survived by 4 sons: Fran (Ginger) Cavanaugh, Greg (Sue) Cavanaugh, Dennis (Robin) Cavanaugh, Bob (Kellie) Cavanaugh; 12 grandchildren: Courtney (Dan) Maiden, Lindsey (Lee) Armstrong, Megan (Elie) Alshoufy, Brett (Nikki) Cavanaugh, Brittanny Simpson, Jeni (Josh) Hoeksema, Ali (Jeshua) Short, Alisha (Philip) Seymour, Carlee Cavanaugh, Mitchell Wolters, Frances Cavanaugh, Logan Wolters; and 10 great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be Saturday, November 3, at 11:00 AM at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Home and Cremation Services,, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100, with interment taking place at Egelston Township Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, November 2, from 6-8 PM, also at The Lee Chapel.
