Carol Ann Hostetter's Obituary
Carol Ann Hostetter, age 79, of Grand Haven passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012. She was born May 24, 1933 in Grand Haven to Paul and Mildred (Taylor) Hostetter.
Carol graduated from Grand Haven High School in 1951. She worked in education for 20 years in the Chicago area and received her master’s degree from the University of Chicago. While living in New Jersey, she was Assistant Professor of Reading at Livingston College of Rutgers University and also sold real estate for over 20 years. She had a passion for reading and collecting books. She had an interest in the arts, especially music, theater, photography and history. She also traveled extensively in the 50 states and toured Russia and Italy. Carol was a practicing member of Feldenkrais Therapy. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Robbinswood Assisted Living Community.
She is survived by 1 sister, Judy (John) Fuller of Nunica; 1 brother, Paul (Sara) Hostetter of Fairbury, IL; and 5 nieces and nephews. She is also survived by 3 special friends, Janet Emig of Florida, Jane Thomson of Spring Lake and Keith (Osa) Schulte of Clarkston, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Mildred.
A memorial service will take place later in the fall. Interment will take place in Lake Forest Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Carol may be given to Spring Lake District Library or Hospice of North Ottawa Community. Please sign the family’s online guest book at www.vbkfuneralhome.com.
