Carol Jean Hudson's Obituary
Carol Jean Hudson, age 86, a resident of Spring Lake for more than 50 years, passed away Friday, August 12, 2022, in her apartment at Grand Pines Assisted Living. She was born December 18, 1935, in Owosso, MI, to Evelyn (Perry) Pratt. She married her high school sweetheart, Elwyn Gerald Hudson on July 6, 1957. Elwyn preceded her in death on December 6, 2021.
Carol was a graduate of Sparrow Nursing College and was a Registered Nurse her entire working career. Upon moving to Spring Lake in 1968, she began working for Hackley Hospital, from where she retired 30-plus years later.
Carol and Elwyn had a loving 64-year marriage and raised four children. In retirement, they enjoyed traveling and camping across United States in their 5th wheel trailer. Carol enjoyed family, creating flower arrangements, collecting souvenirs from their travels and their Boston Terriers.
She is lovingly remembered by her four children: Kenna (Kevin) Durkee, Kendall (Robin) Hudson, Joylyne Sanders, Kelcey (Michael) Thompson; her 4 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, and son-in-law.
The funeral for Carol will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2022, with Rev. Dan Anderson officiating. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
