Carol Kirchner's Obituary
Carol Kirchner, age 76, of Grand Haven passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Grand Pines Assisted Living Center. She was born August 5, 1947, in Charlevoix, Michigan to Clare L. and Christine Alice (Honig) McGhan. She married Ronald Kirchner on April 27, 1979, in Grand Haven.
Carol was the director of human resources at Grand Transformers for thirty-four years, retiring on February 1, 2013. She was an active member of United Methodist Church of The Dunes, serving as choir director and on the music committee. Carol enjoyed singing, directing, reading, walking and most of all spending time with her family. She was a former member of SPHR (Soc. Professional Human Resources).
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Ronald Kirchner; Children, Megan (Mathew) Horist, Liberty Abraham, Corinne (Jason) Gratson; Jeffrey (Suni) Kirchner and Michael Kirchner; twelve grandchildren: Hunter Merkins, Noah Catton, Bailey Davidson, Cole Horist, Paige Horist, Mia Abraham, Lola Abraham, Carter Kirchner, McKenna Kirchner, and Gabriella Gratson, Brynn Gratson and Emma Gratson; her sister, Sharon McGhan; and her children, Michael and Michelle. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 14, 2024, at The United Methodist Church of The Dunes with Rev. Lou Grettenberger officiating. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at church.
