Carol Lynn Moyer's Obituary
With hearts both heavy and grateful, we share that our beloved Carol Lynn Moyer (Livingston) found peace on Wednesday morning, April 23, 2025, as the sun was just beginning to rise. At 71, Carol's extraordinary journey of love and resilience came to a gentle close after a lifetime of facing autoimmune challenges with unwavering grace and a smile that could light up the darkest room.
Carol's story began on November 4, 1953, blossoming into a beautiful tale of devotion when she fell in love with Mark as teenagers. Their romance, which started when they were just 15, grew into a magnificent 52-year marriage that became the cornerstone of their lives in Muskegon after Carol graduated from Mona Shores High School in 1971.
Anyone fortunate enough to know Carol experienced her remarkable gift for making others feel cherished. Despite her physical struggles, Carol's heart remained steadfastly focused on others. She had an uncanny ability to remember the smallest details about those she loved, which showed how deeply she listened and cared. Her prayers were always for peace, hope, and healing for those around her.
Carol's eyes would sparkle with pure joy when speaking of her "forever love" Mark, her son Luke and daughter-in-love Lindsey, but nothing compared to the radiance that enveloped her when she was with her treasured grandchildren, Adeline and Rohan. She often said they were sent to her by God, and the special bonds she created with them will continue to shape their lives with her loving legacy.
Carol's journey was shared with her brothers Richard Livingston, Jr. (Sharon), Marc Livingston (Joy), sisters Lori Russell (Mart), Patricia (Patti) Vargo (Mike), Joni Fields (Norm), sister-in-law Sharon Moyer (Paul Woolverton), brother-in-law Douglas Moyer (Julie), and her aunt Ann Moyer, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and countless friends who became family through her extraordinary capacity for love. She is now reunited with her infant son Nicholas Paul Moyer, her parents Richard and Nelly Lillian (Lilly) Livingston, and her in-laws Carmino and Betty Moyer, Mart Russell, and Norm Fields.
In her final act of generosity – so characteristic of how she lived – Carol donated her body to medical research at the University of Michigan, hoping her journey might ease the path for others facing similar challenges. She will return to her family's embrace after cremation.
Carol's online community brought her immense joy and connection, especially when her health limited her mobility. The family invites all whose lives Carol touched to share memories on her Facebook page, creating a tapestry of stories that capture her extraordinary spirit.
Carol’s family warmly invites all those who knew her to join in celebrating her life on Sunday, August 17, 2025, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the home of her son, Luke Moyer, located at 1318 Poulson Road.
Rather than flowers or gifts, the family welcomes donations to support Carol’s grandchildren in pursuing their educational and athletic dreams. Contributions may be made by check to Luke Moyer.
