Carol Violet Nelson's Obituary
Mrs. Carol Violet Nelson, age 84, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2020 in Muskegon, MI. She was born on August 25, 1935 in Attleboro, MA to John Evald and Ellen (Carlson) Nygren. She was the beloved wife of the late Wilhelm Juuhl Nelson to whom she married on May 23rd, 1964.
Raised and educated in Attleboro, MA, she was a graduate of Attleboro High School and Fisher Junior College. She worked for Dr. Schulman as a Medical Secretary in Boston, MA. In 2007, she moved to the Muskegon area to be near her daughter, Britt, who is a resident at Safe Harbor Christian Community’s, Mary’s House.
Carol enjoyed being a mother and taking care of loved ones, painting, reading and sitting on her balcony enjoying the sun. She was a Lifelong member of Evangelical Covenant Church in Attleboro, MA and attended Forest Park Covenant Church in Muskegon, MI.
SURVIVORS include her son, John-Erik and his wife Joyce of South Easton, MA; her daughter, Britt Nelson of Muskegon, MI; three grandchildren, Anna, Karl-Erik, and Jenna Nelson, all of South Easton, MA; and relatives in Sweden. Memorial and Graveside Services will take place at a later date, including interment next to her husband at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. Nelson’s name and honor may be made to Mary’s House – Safe Harbor Christian Community, 862 Forest Park Rd. Muskegon, MI 49441.
