Carol L. Shimer's Obituary
Carol L. Shimer, age 74, met her Lord and Savior on Monday, November 29, 2021. She was born on December 27, 1946 to Richard and Betty (Coleman) Talamine in Detroit, MI. She dedicated about 15 years to Elkton Dental, where she enjoyed working as a dental assistant. On October 14, 1970 she married Roy Shimer in Mount Clemens, MI, and began a life of 32 years together. He preceded her in death on January 21, 2003. Carol had a love for many things in her life. She was blessed with a green thumb and enjoyed taking care of her flower gardens. She had a huge heart for animals, and loved going for walks with her pup, Toto. In her spare-time, you could catch her reading a romance novel, her favorites were those of Danielle Steel. Above all things, Carol loved her family limitlessly. She was a loving mother, doting grandmother and great-grandmother, wonderful sister, and dear friend to so many. Spending time with her grandsons daily was what she always looked forward to. She was a hardworking woman who went beyond and above to help others. Her vibrant smile and tender-loving spirit balanced with the perfect amount of feistiness will truly be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her 4 children, Richard (Stacey) Shimer, Tammy (Andrew) Caporuscio, Donald (Mindy) Shimer and Marlene Wenta; 11 grandchildren, Angela, Robert, Daniel, Michael, Carolynn, Nicklas, Nickole, Dylan, Eli, Emmitt and Griffin; 5 great-grandchildren, Zhane, Maggie, Jordan, Jackson, and Chelsea; sister, Cheryl (Joe) Rizzuto and pup, Toto. She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Roy Shimer. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 12:00 PM at the Port City Church-McGraft Campus, 1617 Palmer Ave, Muskegon, MI 49441. A visitation with the family will be held from 11-12:00 PM. Please make flowers deliverable to Port City Church- McGraft Campus or in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Carol’s honor can be made directly to the Noah Project, 5205 Airline Rd., Muskegon, MI 49444.
