Our love and prayers go out to Carol's family. She and Jack left a great legacy at Berean Church in Norton Shores. (Muskegon) Carol was a true example of a Godly woman. She led the way for many other Christian women by her life of service.

We met Carol in August of 1963 when Jack brought her to our cottage in Grand Haven. We spent the following 10 years as cottage neighbors who swam, sunned, boated, enjoyed hundreds of trips to the Sugar Shack, many dessert dinners, took rides in Jack's convertible with the heater on high and the windows up (because it was time to go to the Sugar Shack, of course), and cemented a friendship that remained strong all these years... even though the cottages fell into Lake Michigan. We laughed, cried, and prayed together over thousands of things. Most importantly, the common bond we shared - our love for Jesus Christ - made our friendship with Carol and Jack one of the most extraordinary things in our lives.
While we know that Carol was most certainly welcomed with a "Well done!"; we will miss her terribly.

For five years it was my great privilege to ride with Carol to our monthly board meetings at Grace Adventures; she insisted on driving, which made it quite exciting. The opportunity to hear her heart for the Lord, her family, and ministry was a gift I will never forget. Her passion for God's Word and for prayer guided her life and made a profound impression on our family.
Carol was a class lady who deeply loved the Lord whom she served for many years. I was blessed (at one point in our lives) to be her Prayer Partner. What joy it was to pray with her for the needs of our Sunday School class back at Berean Church in Muskegon. She certainly heard, "Well done, good and faithful servant," when she saw her Savior.
When I was a student at Grace Bible College, Jack taught our College Age class at Berean Bible Church in Grand Rapids. He was good but we had a saying taken from a classic commercial, coined by my good friend Phil Munoa- "When Carol speaks, we all listen." She had this way at the end of class in focusing everything Jack said for 45 minutes - into a 2-3 minute succinct, profound summary that always challenged us about a personal response. I honestly went to class for those 3 minutes of refreshing enlightenment at an age where I knew it all anyway. But after Carol spoke- realized I knew so very little where it mattered most- my heart. I have so many powerful memories of this family over the years.
When Jack had his stroke and I was asked by the Chapel committee to lead music worship for Grace Youth Camp Chapel, Carol was the first who encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and believed I could do it. She was always a refreshing voice of clarity no matter the circumstances. She 're-gifted' her love of Christ to so many, including her family. And now her faith has been given sight.
Your Rush Creek Bible Church family, (formally Berean Bible of Wyoming) grieves with you, but 'not as others who have no hope.' Our prayers and love are uniquely yours through Christ.

A generous and kind woman who so generously helped all 4 of our daughters get a college education and be able to do it debt free. We will forever be grateful for her generous spirit, and pray that all of the kids that she has helped get a college education will walk with Jesus in all of their endeavors in honor of this sweet woman who cared enough to to make a difference for so many families. I am so sorry that Anne and I will not be there to celebrate her life.
