Carol Workman's Obituary
Mrs. Carol (Vander Veen) Workman, age 83, passed away at her home on Saturday, August 20, 2022. She was born in Muskegon, Michigan on December 26, 1938 to Jacob and Wilhelmina (Vande Koppel) Vander Veen. Carol was employed by Sealed Power/SPX prior to her retirement. She was a member and organist at Grace Christian Reformed Church, a Bible Study Fellowship Bible study leader, and a member of the White Lake Festival Choir. She enjoyed sewing, reading, traveling, and taking pictures, especially of flowers. On October 16, 1994, Carol married John Workman and he survives her along with three children, Marlin (Beth) Leonard Jr., Shelley (Doug) Witte, and Kimberly Shunk; three bonus children, Beth (Chuck) Tornga, Bob (Teresa) Workman, and Jim (Linda) Workman; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; the father of her children, Lloyd Leonard; and her sister, Judy (Rev. Frank) Musk. She was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings, Richard Vander Veen, John Vander Veen, Genevieve VanHeyningen, and Joann Rottschafer. SERVICES will be 3:00 PM Friday, August 26, 2022 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 with Rev. John DeBoer officiating. VISITATION with her family will be two hours prior to her service (1-3 PM Friday). Burial will be in Restlawn Cemetery.
