Carol Ann (Bunnell) Petersen's Obituary
Mrs. Carol Ann (Bunnell) Petersen, age 59, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2010 at the Poppen Residence of Harbor Hospice. She was born February 24, 1951 in Muskegon to Glenn and Laura (Burkett) Bunnell and lived in the area her entire life. On September 19, 1982, she married Elsworth W. “Pete” Petersen in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on December 5, 1986. Carol worked 35 years as a clerk for the U.S. Post Office and retired in 2003. She was a member of Fellowship Reformed Church and volunteered for the Feed America Can Goods Drives while working at the Post Office. She was active with the Retired Postal Workers Group following her retirement. SURVIVORS include her mother, Laura Bunnell of Holton; brothers and sisters, Edna (Richard) Cross of Muskegon, Norma Bunnell of Fremont, Robert Bunnell and Carl “Ted” Bunnell both of Holton; niece, Mary (Brian) Reens of Coopersville; nephew, Tom (Yolanda) Narlock of Muskegon; great niece, Ashley Reens and great nephews, Robert and Brian Reens, Jr., all of Coopersville; aunts and uncles, Marjorie Headley of Texas, Arthur Bunnell of Muskegon, Earl Bunnell of Arkansas, Joyce Bunnell of Holton and Peggy Yorks of Muskegon; and several cousins and close friends. She was also preceded in death by her father, Glenn Bunnell. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at Fellowship Reformed Church with Pastor Jerry Worrel officiating. VISITATION will be held one hour prior to the service, 12-1 PM Wednesday at the church. INTERMENT will take place at E. Dalton-Oakhill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the American Cancer Society or the National Kidney Foundation.
