Mrs. Carole Lee Fuhr's Obituary
Mrs. Carole Lee Fuhr, age 69, passed away Monday, August 27, 2012 at The Poppen Residence of Harbor Hospice. She was born September 16, 1942 in Muskegon to Carl and Irene (Hager) Christensen. On June 17, 1967, she married Douglas B. Fuhr and he preceded her in death on September 19, 2007. Carole worked for GMAC over 30 years and retired in 1996. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Grand Haven and had been a member of Prince of Peace in Muskegon for several years. Carole enjoyed traveling Europe and Mexico and just spending time with her husband and family. She was also an avid reader. SURVIVORS include 4 children, Angela (Mark) Hunter of Muskegon, Bradley Buikema of Muskegon, Paula (Hector) Garcia of Muskegon, Heidi (Scott) Argue of Traverse City; 8 grandchildren, Michael (Christy) Buikema, Jacquelyn (Ben) Ybema, Brandy Buikema, Jeromie Herzhaft, Sam Herline, Holly Herline, Caleb Argue; 4 great-grandchildren; her mother, Irene Christensen; 2 brothers, James (Joan) Christensen of Muskegon, Allan (Pam) Christensen of Muskegon; 1 brother-in-law, Norman (Vicki) Fuhr of Tyrone, GA; 1 sister-in-law, Karen Christensen of Muskegon; dear and cherished sister and friend, Melodie (Tim) Thielbar of Muskegon. She was also preceded in death by her dear grandson, Patrick Buikema, her father, Carl Christensen, and her brother, David Christensen. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:00 AM Friday, August 31, 2012 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. William A. Langlois as celebrant. INTERMENT will follow at Laketon Township Cemetery. VISITATION will be held 5-8 PM Thursday at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey Street, (231) 798-1100.
