Carolin Mary Hopwood's Obituary
Mrs. Carolin Mary Hopwood, age 83, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024 in Muskegon, Michigan. She was born in Muskegon on June 29, 1940 to Dwain and Mary (Galajda) Chamberlain. Carolin grew up on the shores of Lake Michigan in the Bluffton neighborhood and graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central High School, class of 1958. She enjoyed all things outdoors; especially camping, fishing, gardening, and spending winters in Florida. Carolin also enjoyed art, crafting, sewing, and needlepoint. On September 1, 1989, Carolin married Kenneth Hopwood and he survives her along with her children, Marva (Rob) Zeldenrust, Robert (Deb) French, and Ann Helsen; stepchildren, Sandra Hopwood and Brian Hopwood; eight grandchildren, Laura (Bret) Zagorski, Dan (Kay) Zeldenrust, Cody French, Nick French, Rita French, Aaron (Jill) Helsen, Jacquelyn (Scott) Hilgeman, and Lauren Hopwood; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary (Paul) Jordan and Madeline Mosher. She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Alfons “Butch” Helsen; and brother-in-law, Chuck Mosher.
