Caroline M. Wichter's Obituary
Caroline M. Wichter, age 87, passed away March 20, 2023. She was born June 15, 1935 in Zimmerman, MN to Herman and Ruby (James) Thies. On her birthday in 1963, she married Henry “Paul” Wichter Jr. in Muskegon, and he preceded her in death on September 1, 2012. Carol had been a former member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and collecting dolls. Raising her family brought her the most joy in life and having three girls kept her busy. SURVIVORS include three daughters: Sharon Kay (Mark) Nielsen of Muskegon, Karen Sue Wichter of Fruitport, and Martha Paula Wichter of Muskegon Heights; six grandchildren: Cory Wilde, Brook Wilde, Mackenzie Plichta, Jessica Plichta, Samantha Saari, and Jacob Saari; brother, James Thies; sister-in-law, Leida Thies; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by brothers and sister-in-law: Charles, Richard, Harley (Evelyn) Thies, and infant brother, Howard Thies. SERVICES for Carol will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, March 25, 2023 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231) 798-1100. VISITATION with the family will be from 6-8 PM Friday, March 24, 2023 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service Saturday morning.
