Carol J. Teunis - Riffle's Obituary
Mrs. Carol J. Riffle, age 72, passed away Friday, October 2, 2009 at the Poppen Residence. She was born on November 11, 1936 to Gerald and Eunice (West) Lantz, and resided in the area all of her life. Mrs. Riffle worked at Muskegon Regional Center for many years before retiring in 1991. She was a loving mother and grandmother, who will be missed by those whose lives she touched. Mrs. Riffle was preceded in death by her two husbands, John B. Teunis in 1966, and Eugene R. Riffle in 1995. SURVIVORS include 3 children, John Teunis of Plymouth, MI, Deborah (James) Heethuis and Ann (Thomas, Jr.) Laban both of Muskegon; 7 grandchildren and 3 step-grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and brother, Ronald (Sharon) Lantz of Florida. Mrs. Riffle was also preceded in death by her daughter, Teresa Teunis; brother, Donald Lantz; and sister, Mary Lou Heafey. SERVICES will be 1PM Thursday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 with Pastor Wally Coots officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 6-8PM Wednesday, and 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorial Contributions to Harbor Hospice will be appreciated.
