Carol L. Hofmann's Obituary
Mrs. Carol L. Hofmann, age 72, passed away Thursday evening, January 15, 2004. She was born March 11, 1931 in Muskegon to Clifford and Ora Bell (Eaton) Cross and lived her entire life in the area. She worked as a bus driver for the Orchard View School District for 34 years. She also worked as a cashier at K-Mart and substitute lunch attendant for Johlman School. She attended Orchard View Congregational Church. SURVIVORS include 2 daughters, Corky (Raymond) VanDerHoeven of Fruitport and Cathy Hyde of Muskegon; 2 grandchildren, Amanda Hyde of Muskegon and Jason VanDerHoeven of Florida; 2 brothers, Harold (Virginia) Cross and Douglas (Bev Hammond) Cross; 1 sister, Connie (Donald) Tetzloff all of Muskegon; and several nieces, nephews and special friends. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Charles W. Hofmann, Jr., and three brothers, William Cross killed during WWII, Charles Cross, and Gordon Cross. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at Orchard View Congregational Church with the Rev. William Randall officiating. INTERMENT will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with Carol’s family will be 2-4 and 7-9 PM Monday at the Sytsema Funeral Home, 737 Apple Avenue, (231) 726-5210.
