Carolyn Ruth Driscoll's Obituary
Carolyn Ruth Driscoll, age 72, of Sheffield, Alabama passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014, at a care facility in Alabama. She was born July 4, 1941, in Grand Haven to Roy and Catherine (Vink) Wilkinson. She was married to Dale Driscoll on June 23, 1973 in Spring Lake.
Carolyn worked as a histologist in the health care industry. She loved to travel, going to Europe seven times, and also to South America. She and her husband loved remodeling older homes, antiquing, yard sales, and second-hand shops. She also liked to visit the casino, play the slot machines, and play cards – especially dominoes. She volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul Thrift Store in Florence, AL. and was formerly active in the Girl Scouts. Carolyn was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church in Muskegon where she had served as a deacon. She enjoyed genealogy research, finding her relatives from the Netherlands and Ireland.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Dale Driscoll of Sheffield, Alabama; one daughter, Olga Hines; two sons, John Driscoll and Joel Winkowski; two grandchildren, Catherine and Ian Hines; and four sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
The service for Carolyn will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Spring Lake with Rev. Daniel Anderson officiating. Friends are invited to meet the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Spring Lake Cemetery.
