Carolyn Jean King's Obituary
Carolyn Jean King, 76, of Muskegon, MI, passed away at her home, in Muskegon, on December 27, 2023. She was born on January 7, 1947, in Muskegon, MI, to the late Richard and Vera Weselo. Carolyn was preceded in death by her mother, father, loving husband of 47 years- Dennis King Sr., brothers Ron and Bob Weselo, and Sister-in-Law Norma Weselo. She is survived by her daughter Cheryl (Steve) Ward, son Dennis (Andrea Rose) King Jr., many grandchildren including Derek (Jennifer) McDaniel, Trevor (Shannon) McDaniel, Gabby (Trevor R.) Ward, Dennis (Marisol) King III, Hailey (Kyle) King, Brandyn (Alex) Kleeves, and Travis (Josie) Kleeves, as well as great-grandchildren Matilda, Dennis IV, Canelo, Adriel, Audriano, Greyson, and Remington. Carolyn is also survived by her brothers and sisters-in-laws: Pat Weselo, Cindy Ali, Sandra Little, Tim King, Joyce and Larry King, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Carolyn was a proud, loving mother and grandmother known for her sense of humor and kind natured heart. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Carolyn attended Reeths-Puffer High School. She also dedicated over 25 years of her life to Walgreens, starting as a waitress in Walgreens' restaurant and eventually becoming the Assistant Manager. After the restaurants closed, Carolyn transitioned into various retail positions within the company, showcasing her dedication, hard work, and the love for her customers.
In her free time, Carolyn enjoyed camping, traveling to California, fishing, reading, watching old western TV shows and movies such as Gunsmoke. She also enjoyed being a member of the Women's Auxiliary at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. Before her husband passed, they shared their love for dancing, bowling, and attending vintage car shows together. Many people, especially her grandchildren, will remember Carolyn rocking various tie-dye clothing pieces and her infamous Crocs.
The memory of Carolyn Jean King will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace. A celebration of life is planned for January 7th, 2024 from 3pm to 6pm at the Ravenna Round Table (12396 Stafford St, Ravenna, MI 49451).
