Carolyn Mae Klug's Obituary
Carolyn Mae Klug, age 75, passed away Friday, December 31, 2021. She was born October 20, 1946 in Omer, MI to William and Alice (Docking) Makinen. Carolyn had been an Avon Representative, worked in the Trinity Lutheran Church school office, and retired in 2003 from Meijer, Inc. after over 7 years of employment. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Carolyn enjoyed reading, doll collecting, playing games on her computer, attending plays at the Civic Theatre, and traveling. On May 18, 1968, she married Charles Alvin “Charlie” Klug in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on July 15, 2019. SURVIVORS include 2 children: Laurie Toney and Brad Klug both of Muskegon; 3 grandchildren: Charlie Klug, Nicholas Toney, and Addison Klug; sister-in-law, Paula Makinen of Woburn, Massachusetts; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Kenneth Makinen. Services for Carolyn will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, January 6, 2022 at St. Mark Lutheran Church (4475 Henry Street) with Pastor Scott Faith officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231) 798-1100 and one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Lakeside Cemetery.
