Carolyn Dawn Kotecki's Obituary
Carolyn D. Kotecki, age 71, passed away at The Leila & Cyrus Poppen Hospice Residence on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. She was born in Muskegon on December 1, 1953, to Carlyle and Dawn (Barber) Leady. Carolyn married the love of her life, Edmund D. Kotecki II on January 13, 1973, and spent 52 wonderful years together. She had a zest for life and found great joy in travel, especially going on cruises where she could relax and take in the beauty of the ocean. She also enjoyed the excitement of visiting the casino and sharing those fun moments with friends and family. One of her greatest pleasures was supporting her grandchildren – she was their biggest fan, cheering them on at dance recitals, marching band performances and baseball and softball games. Her love, encouragement, and lively spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband; Edmund D. Kotecki II; 3 children: Michelle (Ty) French, Julie (Paul) Wilber and Mary (Chris) Vetter; 6 grandchildren: Payton, Reaghan, Jordan, Brady, Alexa and Violet; brothers and sisters: Scott Leady, Deana Richter, Brenda Leady and Monica Slocum and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents: Carlyle F. and Dawn B. Leady; brother: Randall Leady; in-laws: Edmund D. Kotecki I and Dorothy J. Kotecki.
