Carolyn Munroe's Obituary
Carolyn M. (Margie) Munroe, age 79, of Ada, formerly of Whitehall and Spring Lake passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014 at home. She was born January 8, 1935 in Howard City to Louis and Ruth (Safford) McCambridge.
Carolyn was a nurse at North Ottawa Community Hospital for over twenty years. She was an avid cook and treasured spending time with family and friends, especially sharing recipes and preparing her favorite meals. She also loved music and was known to participate in several musicals in her younger years. Carolyn was an expert bridge player, participating in bridge groups in Michigan and Florida. Her dry wit and prolific talent with cross word puzzles filled many hours with family. Some of her fondest memories were traveling in Northern Michigan on color tours, living in Florida during the winters and enjoying time with family at the annual family golf outing.
She is survived by four children: Wm. Scott (Susan) Munroe of Lake Worth, FL; Jill (Keith) Oliveri of Ada, MI; Martin Lee (Janet) Munroe of Barryton, MI; Wm. Todd (Myra) Munroe of Central Lake, MI; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and two on the way. Carolyn is also survived by her sister, Donna Price and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis, Ruth and stepmother, Bernadine; brothers, Larry and Bob, as well as her long-time companion, Martin Start. Mart and his family were a very important part of Carolyn’s life.
