Carolyn J. Smith's Obituary
Mrs. Carolyn J. Smith, age 77, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2011 in Muskegon. She was born in Muskegon on December 22, 1933 to Basil and Elizabeth (Schmidt) Larabee and was a life resident of the area. Mrs. Smith was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed watching Tigers games with her husband Keith and they loved to play Yahtzee together, although they often would fight over “their” quarters. She also enjoyed playing cards and going to the casino. On June 28, 1952, Carolyn married Keith F. Smith and he preceded her in death on October 23, 2010. She is survived by her 3 daughters, Sheryl E. (Blake) Parsons, Terrie O. (James) Walters and Carol L. (Ronald) DuBois; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Tom (Beverly) Nelson and David (Betty) Nelson; 1 sister, Janice Root, cousins and best friends, Virgil and Lola Somerville. In addition to her husband, Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, Eugene and Richard Larabee. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Monday at Grace Lutheran Church (2651 East Shettler Road) with Pastor Timothy J. Winkel officiating. VISITATION will be from 2-5PM Sunday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100. BURIAL will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
