Carolyn M. Gabris' Obituary
Mrs. Carolyn M. Gabris, age 66, passed away September 4, 2010 at the Poppen Residence. She was born on November 30, 1943 to Homer and Bertha (Sowles) Wilkerson. Mrs. Gabris had volunteered at Mercy General gift shop for many years. She also loved playing bingo, scratch off lotto tickets, visits to the casino, crocheting, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. On November 3, 1962 she married Gene Gabris in Muskegon, and he preceded her in death in 2002. SURVIVORS include 2 children, Karen (fiancé, Robb) Oudsema and Jack (Codie) Gabris; 4 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Ken (Nancy) Wilkerson, James (Joan) Wilkerson and Daniel (Joyce) Wilkerson; 2 sisters, Marilyn Eek and Cynthia Currier; sister-in-laws, Carol (John) Jordan and Gayle (Mike) Berryhill; brother-in-laws, John (Diane) Gabris, Joseph (Jeanne) Gabris and Alan (Sharon) Gabris. Mrs. Gabris was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Gene Gabris Jr.; daughter, Carol King and brother, Jack Wilkerson. THE FUNERAL SERVICE will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at The Lee Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 VISITATION will be 6-8 PM Tuesday. MEMORIALS to Harbor Hospice would be appreciated. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
