Caroyl Annieta Witherell's Obituary
Mrs. Caroyl Annieta Witherell, age 93, passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2023 in Muskegon. She was born in Alma, Michigan on November 2, 1929 to Floyd and Elsie (Mead) Allen. On July 24, 1948, Caroyl married Joel J. Witherell, Jr. and he preceded her in death in 1989. She was a determined woman who wasn’t afraid to take charge of a situation or group, yet she was kind and loving, and made sure her family knew that. Caroyl had served as the secretary of the West Michigan Tour Riders motorcycle club, president of the Jolman School PTA, Cub Scout den mother, community volunteer and spent many years as an Avon representative. She enjoyed motorcycle trips around the United States with her husband, Joel, and was part of the social group, “Sams Club”. She also enjoyed international travels with her son, Noel. Caroyl is survived by her son, Noel Witherell; daughters-in-law, Pamela Witherell and Sharon Witherell; grandchildren, Daisy Lea (Roger) Dery, Olivia Kathleen Witherell, Maximilan Jakob Witherell, Lisa Joy (Kennth) White, and Elizabeth Harriet Harvey; and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Caroyl was preceded in death by her son, Joel Witherell, III and granddaughter, Lily Vale Witherell. A GRAVESIDE SERVICE will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Sunrise Memorial Gardens (2188 Remembrance Dr., Muskegon, MI 49442).
