Casimir P. Gorajec's Obituary
Mr. Casimir P. Gorajec, age 89, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at his home. He was born on April 6, 1924 in Muskegon to Andrew and Bernice (Domurat) Gorajec, and resided in the area all of his life. Mr. Gorajec was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, and served his country in World War II. He belonged to the Pulaski Lodge, and more recently the Muskegon Heights Eagles. Mr. Gorajec was a lifetime and dedicated member of St. Michael Catholic Church, volunteering his time at the food bank, helping with funeral luncheons, as an usher and at the Divine Mercy Chapel. He also enjoyed Polish music and was an avid reader. On September 7, 1946 he married the former Emily Swift, the love of his life, and she preceded him in death in 1991. Mr. Gorajec was a dedicated father to his surviving children, Cynthia Schofield, Timothy Gorajec and Marjorie Gorajec all of Muskegon; 2 grandchildren, Matthew Schofield and Adam (Tracy) Schofield; and 3 great grandchildren, Brighton, Payton, and Copeland. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mr. Gorajec was also preceded in death by his son, Michael Gorajec in 1970; and his sister, Lucille Piasecki. The MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 11AM Monday at St. Michael Catholic Church. VISITATION with the family will be 5-8PM Sunday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 with the Rosary being prayed at 5PM Sunday. Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
