Catherine J. Butterfield's Obituary
Catherine J. Butterfield, age 95, passed away at her home on Sunday, September 29, 2019. She was born on February 22, 1924 to Edwin and Nora (Burmeister) Butterfield in Muskegon. Catherine worked as a cost accountant for Shaw Walker for 35 years. She was a faithful member of Bethany Christian Reformed Church. Catherine had a love of gardening and flowers. She also loved traveling; visiting every state but Hawaii as Catherine did not want to fly. Catherine is survived by her siblings, Donald (Lawain) Butterfield, Myrna Spliedt, Norene (Bert) Acherman, Caren (Herbert) Kile. She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Bill Butterfield, Jack (Lois) Butterfield, Maxine Butterfield and Thelma Wolf. A VISITATION with Catherine’s family will take place on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 1547 W Sherman Blvd, Muskegon, MI 49441 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. A FUNERAL SERVICE will take place on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Bethany Christian Reformed Church (1105 Terrace St.) at 11:00 AM with visitation taking place one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will take place in Lakeside Cemetery. For a more lasting memory, donations in Catherine’s name can be made to Bethany Christian Reformed Church or the Muskegon Rescue Mission.
