Catherine Cotter's Obituary
Mrs. Catherine Cotter, age 95, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Sanctuary at the Shore in Grand Haven, MI. She was born August 25, 1916 in Detroit, MI to Andrew and Margaret (Jackson) VanBeelen and resided in Carson City, MI. She married Doyle Cotter on September 29, 1941 in Lansing, MI. He preceded her in death on August 1, 1988 in Burbank, CA. Catherine received her Bachelor degree in Elementary Education at Huntington College in Indiana in 1938 and was a school teacher in the Lansing area until moving to Burbank, CA in 1958, where she resided until moving to Fruitport, MI, to be with her daughter in 1999. She is survived by 2 children, Joan (Robert) Jaworski of Fruitport, MI and Gary (Marianne) Cotter of Santa Barbara, CA; 4 grandchildren, Douglas (Rada) Jaworski, Nathan (Amy) Jaworski, William and Luc Cotter; 4 great-grandchildren, Morgan, Cameron, Lukas and Julianna Jaworski. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 1 sister. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 30, 2012 at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 S. Harvey St., Muskegon, MI 49444, (231) 798-1100, Friends may meet with the family beginning on hour prior to the service.
