Catherine Belle Crosby's Obituary
Catherine Belle Crosby, age 89, passed away peacefully at home with her family, January 31, 2018. She was born February 22, 1928 in Muskegon to Leo and Alberta (Zeedyk) Nichols. On June 22, 1946, she married Richard E. Crosby in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on January 23, 2010. Mrs. Crosby had worked for the Howmet Corporation for over 26 years prior to her retirement in 1982. She was an active member of Hope Reformed Church, where she ran the kitchen for many years. Mrs. Crosby enjoyed sewing, reading, baking, and also teaching other people how to cook. SURVIVORS include 3 children: Carol L. (Jim) VanMaastricht of Muskegon, Earle D. (Jackie) Crosby of Houma, LA, Catherine S. Mayo of Texas; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Cousineau of Muskegon; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends. She was also preceded in death by a son, Richard L. Crosby, Sr. and sister, Leona Swager. SERVICES will be 1:00 PM Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Hope Reformed Church (1878 Evanston Ave.) with Rev. Steven Hyma officiating. VISITATION with the family will be from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hope Reformed Church or the Casnovia Township Fire Department will be appreciated.
