Aunt Shirley - I hope you know how much your West Coast Family Loved you! You will be sorely missed. You brought so much laughter, light, course jokes, belly laughs and powerful wisdom to those around you! You endured so much in your life and with such strength and determination. You were a fighter, a hard worker, a believer and one who persevered. Even though I only had the chance to see you in person 4 times in my life, the core memories are very powerful. First time I met you was at the Lichner reunion around 1978. My 12 year old younger me was blown away by allllll those crazy Lichners and You were one of the funnest, loudest and craziest! 😍 You explained what a firefly was as I had never seen one before in my life! In 2005 we traveled to MI with our teenage children. We all got together and my hubs and kids met you and loved you. When we all snuggled in for a group photo, you said “Excuse my big boops!” You had us all in stitches - Never a dull moment with you! We were so blessed with your visit to OR in 2017. You didn’t feel the best, but what a trooper you were! It was the last time we got to hug you but we will again in heaven someday. We love you and miss you already.
~ RIP Aunt Shirley ~

I had the pleasure of being her caregiver. We grew a sisterhood that was special. She shared a lot of wisdom and knowledge with me. Her love of family was always strong and she showed me love also. I will never forget her or her family. I'm sending my sincere condolences to the family and friends. May the Lord watch between me and thee, when we are absent one from another. 🙏♥️

Dad and Aunt Cheryl were super close. She used to tease Dad and say she was going to Jap Slap him when he would get lippy with her. I remember when I was living with dad my senior year in high school, I didnt start driving until then. I had the privilege of Aunt Cheryl driving with me. She was so patient and kind. She sure prayed alot when she was sitting in the passenger seat as I drove praying to St. Anthony to keep us safe. She was a Devote Catholic, NEVER missed prayer before meals and loved to laugh and poke fun at my dad. Making light of life despite her health complications she was always positive. I can still hear her voice, she just loved all her family to pieces. Rest easy Aunt Shirley. Love you to the Moon.

I have so many fond memories of, but two stand out the most. One when my husband and Aunt Squirrel playfully teased each-other during our visit with her and dad in 2012. My husband nick named her “Aunt Squirrel “ and it quickly became a term of endearment much to dad’s amusement. I will always cherish her honest kindness during dads illness and after his passing.Especially the hours we spent on the phone reminiscing about dad and their powerful bond. Godspeed, Aunt Squirrel. Until we meet again, dad eagerly awaits to welcome you with open arms. All our love

I remember when we were Aunt Shirley use to live in Texas by us. She would come visit with everyone and we would spend time together! It was always a great time and one of the fondest memories I have of Aunt Shirley!! Dad and her are together again and catching up feeling great!!!
Love you Aunt Shirley!

Beautiful lady, friend and family. We were blessed to be part of her life. I know my dad will be happy to see her and start packing sand.
Our thoughts and prayers for you all at this time. With Love

Aunt Shirley laughed so robustly, it was infectious. you could not help but her energy and smile yourself. Dianna Schmidt (Lichner )
