Catherine Cecelia Bollenbach's Obituary
Mrs. Catherine Cecelia (Clements) Bollenbach, age 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 22, 1926 in Muskegon to Charles and Margaret (Doerr) Clements and lived in the area her entire life. She graduated from St. Joseph High School. She married E. G. Bollenbach on November 17, 1945 at the former St. Joseph Catholic Church and he preceded her in death on August 1, 1990. She was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and currently a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was active with the Altar Society, Sacred Heart Senior Citizens, Eucharistic distributing, pastoral care at Mercy Hospital and served on the Funeral Luncheon Committee. Catherine was also a member of the Mona Lake Boating Club, Muskegon Heights Eagle’s Auxiliary #2106, VFW Post #3195 Auxiliary, 4H Leader, and past-Happy Wanderers Club. She also served as a room mother many years for her children. She retired in 1980 after working 12 years as a school bus driver for the Mona Shores School District. SURVIVORS include 1 son, Garry C. Bollenbach of Norton Shores, 5 daughters, Karen K. Rafferty of Norton Shores, Greta A. (Gary Ishler) Markowicz of Powell, OH, Marie A. (John) Tejchma of Fruitport, Lisa M (James) Kellogg of Muskegon, and Diane Derby of Norton Shores; 11 grandchildren, Kimberly (Dale) Geissinger, Rich Rafferty, Jr., Patrick Rafferty, Matthew Markowicz, Joshua Bollenbach, Claudia Markowicz, Arnota Tejchma, John Edward Tejchma, Jason Derby, Cecilia Kellogg, Noah Kellogg, 5 great-grandsons, Joseph Geissinger, Nicholas Rafferty, Jeremy Geissinger, Jacob Geissinger, Jaiden Bollenbach; 1 brother, Charles (Yvonne) Clements of Placerville, CA; half-sister, Ann Hurst of Massachusetts; 2 sisters-in-law, Betty Bollenbach of Muskegon and Claudelle (Chuck) Viggers of Ft. Bragg, CA. Her home was never without homemade cookies, words of praise & warm hugs. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday, March 13, 2008 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Thomas J. Brown as celebrant. INTERMENT will take place at Norton Cemetery. VISITATION with Catherine’s family will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 S. Harvey Street, (231) 798-1100. The Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 PM. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the Mass, 10-11 AM Thursday in the Victor Miller Room at Sacred Heart.
