Catherine Elizabeth Belmonte's Obituary
Mrs. Catherine E. Belmonte, age 87, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2007 at her home. She was born March 3, 1919 in Carbondale, PA to Frank and Teresa (Futia) Sirianni and lived in the Muskegon area most of her life. On September 25, 1943, she married Frank Belmonte and he survives her. Catherine had worked for a short time as an inspector for Muskegon Piston Ring. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Frank; 3 children, Patricia (Ted) DeGroot of Naples, FL, Mary Belmonte of Muskegon, and Frances (John) Waszkiewicz of Allen Park, MI; 2 grandchildren, Andrew and Amanda Waszkiewicz of Allen Park, MI; 7 brothers and sisters, Nancy (Victor) Panozzo, Helen King, Joseph (Harriette) Sirianni, Frank Sirianni, Jr. all of Muskegon, Theresa Perry of Florida, Connie Sirianni of Fruitport, Carmel (William) Greer of Grand Rapids; 1 sister-in-law, Maxine Belmonte of Muskegon; and several loving nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Art (Janice) Cassadonte of Muskegon. She was preceded in death by her son, Frankie Belmonte in 1972, her parents, 1 sister, Mary J. Sirianni in 2006. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:00 AM Monday, January 15, 2007 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Michael P. Olson as celebrant. INTERMENT will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. VISITATION with the family will be held 2-6 PM Sunday at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 737 Apple Avenue, (231) 726-5210. The Rosary will be prayed at 2:00 PM Sunday. Visitation will also be held one our prior to Mass, 10-11 AM Monday at the church.
