Cathleen B. Wood's Obituary
Cathleen (Ball) Wood, age 68 of Spring Lake, MI, passed away Monday morning, January 23, 2012, in Glen Ellyn, IL, after a 8-year battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born July 19, 1943 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to the late Roman and Katherine (Jagielski) Ball. Cathleen was a retired art teacher for the Shelby County, MI School District. Surviving are her three children, Winston (Susan) Wood and grandchildren Megan, Adam, Melody, and Henry of North Bend, OR; Dawn (Mike) Smith and grandchildren Emma and Olivia of Glen Ellyn, IL, and Clay Wood of Spring Lake, MI. She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Ball of Grand Rapids. Other siblings are Michael Ball of Penfield, NY, Joan (Forest) Adolphson of Tupelo, MS, and Linda (Sam) Ashby of Winchester, TN. VISITATION will be at 6-8PM Thursday, January 26, 2012 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 S. Harvey Street, Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231-798-1100).
A FUNERAL MASS will be held 11 AM Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church,406 E. Savidge St., Spring Lake, MI. Interment will be at the Holy Cross Cemetery, Grand Rapids, MI. For a more lasting memorial, you are asked to consider www.feedthechildren.org.
