Cathy D. "Mimi" Boertman's Obituary
Cathy Diane “Mimi” Boertman, age 67, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2021 at her home. She was born April 10, 1954 in Muskegon to Jack and I. Charlene (Smith) Mysen and was a life resident of the area. Mimi worked over 30 years for Howmet Corp. and retired in 1999. She later earned her health care certificate and worked in home health care for a time. On June 12, 1976, she married Frederick L. Boertman in Montague and he preceded her in death on May 22, 2013. Mimi loved the outdoors and loved to deer hunt and fish. She also enjoyed gardening and horses. Mimi was also an animal lover and her home became a haven as she cared for many strays. Her family and her grandkids were always her first priority. Survivors include 3 children, Lynn (Stefan) Hulett, Paulette (Erik) Adams, PJ (Shelly) Boertman; 7 grandchildren, Trevor (Cady), Zachary (Kaylyn) Emily (Nick), Lynsie, Hunter, Benjamin, Makayla; 2 great-grandchildren, Brantley and Easton; 1 brother, Dan (Cindy) Mysen; 2 sisters, Cheryl (Carl) Parrish, Debra Mysen; 1 sister-in-law, Linda (Rick) Stenberg; many nieces, nephews and friends; and her beloved butler, Reginald “Reggie”. A Memorial Service will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday, April 27, 2021 under the South Portico at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, 2-3PM Tuesday. Please dress appropriately for the weather. Facial coverings and social distancing will be observed.
