Cecil Alexander Sr.'s Obituary
Cecil Alexander, Sr., age 89, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2019. He was born on June 6, 1930 to Ezekiel and Marie Alexander in Waldo, Arkansas. Cecil worked for Sealed Power Corporation for over 30 years until his retirement in 1991. Cecil served in the United States Armed Military Forces and received the Korean Service Medal, 2 Bronze Service Stars, and the UN Service Medal. Cecil’s greatest passion was maintaining a pristine lawn, he liked to stay busy and was always taking up projects around his home. He was known to be a very independent, proud, and strong man. He will be missed and always remembered. Cecil is preceded in death by his first wife Gwen; his son Wayne, his niece, Betty; and four brothers, Ezekiel, Raymond, Joe, and Henry. He is survived by his wife Janice; daughter, Eva and two grandchildren, Alexia and Alex; one son Cecil (Arreanna), and one step daughter, Joni (Eric). He also leaves nieces and nephews that he raised as his own, Harvell (Jackie), Rene, Gloria (Talmadge). Cecil also leaves to cherish five sisters, Queen, Sylvia, Lena Mae, Alice Faye, Betty Sue; and three brothers, Linwood, Darrell, Douglas, Robert Terrell. VISITATION with Cecil’s family will take place on Friday, September 27, 2019 at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation, 737 E. Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442 (231-726-5210) from 5:00 – 8:00 PM. A FUNERAL SERVICE for Cecil will take place on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Bethany Christian Reformed Church (1105 Terrace St.) at 11:00 Am. For a more lasting memory, donations in Cecil’s name can be made to Bethany Christian Reformed Church.
