Cecilia Guevara Esteban MD's Obituary
Dr. Cecilia Guevara Esteban, age 85, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2024 surrounded by her loving family at her home in Hudsonville. She was born July 16, 1939 in Naic, Cavite, Philippines and came to the United States in 1969. Dr. Cecilia became a US Citizen in the mid-1970’s. On December 3, 1960, she married Roberto Ortigas Esteban, MD in the Philippines. Dr. Cecilia worked side by side with her husband as a physician for the State of Michigan before retiring in 1992. She later worked as a physician for the State of Oklahoma after her retirement. Survivors include 4 children, Gianelli Esteban, Roberto (Lucrezia) Esteban, Jr, Eugenio (Lynda) Esteban, Ramoncito Esteban; 9 grandchildren, Roberto (Holly) Esteban III, Todd (Emily) Esteban, Cymber (Jeremy) Stroven, Janelle Pernesky, Emily (Chase) Burgess, Gina (Erik) Klaus, Alyssa (Bradyn) Vis, Olivia Esteban, Cecilia Esteban; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Roberto Ortigas Esteban, MD; her parents, Dionisio Arenas Guevara, Atty. and Filomena Estuar Guevara; 1 brother, Dionisio Estuar Guevara Jr., MD; and 1 sister-in-law, Dominga Nazareno Guevara. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (239 W. Clay Ave) with the Rev. Fr. Kyle Kilpatrick presiding. VISITATION will be held 5-8 PM Monday at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444, where the Rosary will be prayed at 5:15 PM Monday evening. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Tuesday. INTERMENT will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be directed to Corewell Health Hospice.
